This is an excellent hard use steel for camp knives, large choppers & swords. If you like to create Japanese type hamon on your western style blades, elementally this steel has everything you could ask for. The rest is up to you in regards to proper heat treat, polish, and etch. I’ve been using this steel for over 3 years now and it fast became one of my favorites for the above mentioned knife types. The NJ Steel Baron goes out of his way to provide Bladesmiths with the best blade materials on the planet – his 1075 being one of them. Do yourself, and your customers a favor – simply purchase a stick or two. It won’t be long and your steel rack will have a permanent slot specifically for this material.
