Product Description

A favorite steel for many knifemakers, 1095 is excellent for forging, yet proves a little more difficult to heat treat for some makers as it is hyper-eutectoid. Once you have mastered heat treating 1095, excellent effects and hamons can be created. While it may seem a little pricey, our 1095 is the best around. it comes pickled, annealed, and we suggest a fast-oil quench.

This is a great steel. I have ordered 4in x 48in 3 times at this point of their 1095. It comes in proper dimensions and is not all rusted or bent up. They ship the steel with a pieceof underlying lumber to keep the product straigjt. As a novice knife maker I have had no issue heat treating this steel and feedback from my sales have all been great. Recommended to many peers and friends.

I used this steel for my first knife and give 100% positive rating for the steel, and service of new jersey steel baron.

This may be a little pricey for 1095, but Aldo’s steel is the best of the best. I just tried his steel for the first time and im never going back!
